Comparison between Nexgard and Comfortis
Oral treatments (chewables or tablets) are a very fuss-free and popular way to treat your cats and dogs from fleas. In addition, oral treatment will avoid the mess of topical solution.
Nexgard (Afoxolaner) and Comfortis (Spinosad) are both oral treatments and need to administer monthly. Both will kill adult fleas and also breaks the breeding cycle by preventing them from laying eggs. Nexgard has the additional advantage of killing ticks.
Nexgard is only available for dogs. It is suitable for puppies and dogs from the age of eight weeks and has a minimum weight of 4 lbs (1.8kg). Comfortis is available for cats and dogs. It is safe to use on cats at the age of 14 weeks with and minimum body weight of 4.1 lbs (1.9kg) and for dogs at 14 weeks with and minimum body weight of 5 lbs (2.3 kg).
Comfortis is a fast-acting formula that kills fleas within 30 minutes and reaches 98% effectiveness in four hours.
Please choose the correct size according to your pet's body weight.
