Product Overview:
Malaseb Medicated Foam is a potent antimicrobial solution to treat fungal and bacterial infections in pets. It is particularly effective against Malassezia and a broad range of bacteria, including Staphylococcus intermedius, a common contributor to bacterial dermatitis in dogs and cats. Combining miconazole and chlorhexidine ensures a comprehensive approach to managing seborrhoeic dermatitis and related conditions.
Indications:
Malaseb is formulated to treat seborrhoeic dermatitis caused by Staphylococcus intermedius and Malassezia. It also aids in the treatment of ringworm. Please note that using this product may interfere with the effectiveness of topical flea treatments.
Usage Warnings:
This product can cause skin and eye irritation. Avoid direct contact with eyes and skin; always wear rubber gloves during application. If contact with eyes occurs, rinse immediately with water. Be sure to wash your hands after use.
Application Instructions:
- Thoroughly wet the pet with clean water.
- Apply Malaseb foam along the coat and massage into the fur at multiple points. A sponge can assist with lathering and better penetration into the coat.
- Pay extra attention to areas prone to harboring infectious organisms, such as around the mouth, under the tail, and between the toes.
- Leave the foam on for 10 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with clean water.
- For optimal results, repeat the treatment twice weekly until symptoms improve. For ongoing maintenance, use once weekly or as directed by your veterinarian.
For cases of ringworm, treat all animals in contact with the infected pet to reduce the risk of infection spread and environmental contamination.
